On March 10, Virginia Ginny Cosson, an FHP duty officer at the Tallahassee Regional Communications Center (TRCC), received letters of appreciation from Governor Charlie Crist and the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles just days before her second deployment to Iraq. Ginny, granddaughter of Captain A.D. Cosson (former Troop H Commander), is a member of the Army National Guard. She was just seventeen when she enlisted in the Army, and volunteered for her first deployment at age twenty. While serving in Tikrit, Iraq, she was attached to a communications unit. After she returned to the United States, Ginny began working for FHP in October 2008, and has proved a valuable member of the TRCC team. Her military experience and knowledge of communications has served her well as a duty officer with our agency. While preparing for her next deployment, Ginny will be mobilizing at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin, and will then deploy to Baghdad for one year. We are extremely proud of Ginny. We wish her the best and pray for her safe return.
