Venice FHP auxiliary troopers put together a special safety day at Wal-Mart to benefit the residents of Sarasota County. Law enforcement officers working this multi-agency event provided demonstrations, safety advice, and giveaways for kids and adults to learn from and enjoy. FHP troopers and North Port Police Department officers gave a special K-9 demonstration. While troopers distributed bicycle helmets to help keep children safe on bikes this holiday season, auxiliary troopers raffled off bicycles for needy kids attending the event. The FHP Auxiliary unit also brought their golf cart for great photo opportunities. Additionally, one of FHP’s popular rollover simulators was in operation to show attendees why everyone should always buckle up. Troopers were ready to answer questions, provide parents with ID kits for their children, and share lots of smiles with all the kids. Overall, it was a great day for safety in Sarasota County.
