Trooper Hazen Ogden, Troop B (Lake City) outsmarts
drug smuggler, and seizes contraband, money and vehicle.

On November 3, 2008, Trooper Ogden conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a 2004 Mercury Marauder for speeding on Interstate 75 in Columbia County. As he contacted the driver, Trooper Ogden smelled the odor of marijuana. During further investigation, Trooper Ogden discovered a small amount of marijuana and cocaine and placed the driver under arrest. A close examination of the interior of the vehicle revealed a very sophisticated concealment compartment built into one of the speaker boxes. After locating and activating the electrical switch that opened the box, over $26,000 dollars was discovered. The money, drugs and cash were seized due to the attention to detail and efforts of Trooper Ogden. Good Job!
