Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Maria Torres (Jacksonville) had an opportunity to participate in the active Hispanic community in Jacksonville during another successful Puerto Rican parade with more than 15,000 participants. The parade and associated activities represented a celebration of Puerto Rico's culture and influence in the Jacksonville area. The parade served as the finale of Puerto Rico Week, which included a proclamation from Jacksonville Mayor John Peyton. The parade was dedicated to San German, Puerto Rico, and honored the military and the 65th Infantry.
