FHP’s Corporal Richard Nardiello arrests
a suspect with a loaded AR-15.
When Corporal Richard Nardiello saw the driver of a 2008 BMW M6 illegally parked in a handicapped space, he asked him for identification. The subject produced an expired concealed weapons permit to use as I.D. Trooper Nardiello then asked if he had any weapons in the vehicle. The subject responded that he had a gun next to him on the seat of the car. Corporal Nardiello saw a fully loaded 9MM next to the subject in an open holster between the seat and the driver, and asked if he had any other weapons. The subject said "No." Corporal Nardiello conducted a driver license check that revealed 20 suspensions since January 2008.
The suspect was immediately placed under arrest and the vehicle searched. When the right front passenger seat was moved forward, a fully loaded AR-15 with a laser mounted on the front of the weapon was found. A small amount of cannibas residue was also found on the floorboard and rear cup holder attached to the center console.
The suspect was charged with two counts of Carrying a Concealed Firearm, Driving while License Suspended, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Improper Parking in a Handicapped Space.
