On March 9th, Trooper Christopher Powers stopped the driver of a tractor trailer for speeding on I-4 in south Orlando. Then, Trooper Powers discovered a discrepancy with the truck's paperwork. After further investigation, Trooper Powers suspected that the merchandise was either stolen or counterfeit, so he and five troopers spent several hours unloading the trailer. They estimated that the truck contained nearly one million dollars in counterfeit merchandise. Trooper Powers then arrested the driver who was booked into the Orange County Jail, and was later charged with possession of counterfeit merchandise with intent to deliver and sell.

The Customs Department later tallied the retail price of all of the counterfeit clothing, shoes, and purses, and came up with a grand total of $3,098,339 worth of confiscated counterfeit merchandise. FHP thanks Customs personnel for their help assessing the value of this bust.
