Recently, members of the Tallahassee Regional Communications Center delivered a generous Christmas gift to Amber Isaac-Pittman. A check for $1,000 was presented to Amber from Troop D's Auxiliary in Orlando. FHPA Commander Captain John Kirchhoefer said, "Amber has been in our hearts for a long time, and this is our way of helping her and her family celebrate the holidays."

Amber, a former FHP duty officer, was paralyzed in a car crash in October 2005. Months after her lengthy recovery process, which is on-going, she attempted to return to her work duties in Tallahassee, but was unable to do so for very long. Being a single parent of a toddler, paralyzed from the waist down, and trying to commute to work over 70 miles each way soon became overwhelming for Amber. In February 2007, Amber left the Patrol so she could concentrate on battling her reoccurring infections caused by her condition and raising her daughter.
