Governor Charlie Crist addressed a crowd on National Amber Alert Day from his St. Petersburg office in one of his first press conferences as Florida’s Governor. “The people of Florida play an important role in locating missing children in a timely manner so that they can be reunited with their families,” said Governor Crist. “I am proud to live in a state where the citizens take care of each other and make the safety of children a high priority.” Representatives from state and local law enforcement agencies were on hand to join the Governor in pledging support to the Amber Alert system that plays a vital role in locating abducted children and returning them safely home.
