Members of the joint Troops K/L Tactical Response Team
participate in anti-terrorism training in New Mexico.
Recently, members of the joint Troop K/L Tactical Response Team (TRT) traveled to New Mexico to participate in Anti-Terrorism Training. The week-long training was supported by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Office of Domestic Preparedness, and was hosted by New Mexico Tech. The TRT successfully planned and executed a series of tactical response plans during reenactment scenarios involving planned terrorist attacks.
This enhanced Anti Terrorism training will help our agency better prepare to respond and assist federal, state, and local law enforcement and emergency responders during any significant events involving terrorism as well as other critical events. The TRT, which is based out of West Palm Beach, is one of several teams posted throughout Florida. Each team consists of highly qualified individuals who have been trained in the latest use of highly sophisticated weapons and special tactical equipment and gear. Our state’s TRT’s are able to respond to any incident statewide.
