Recently, members from the Florida Highway Patrol and the Florida Department of Transportation joined Senate Majority Leader Daniel Webster, Florida Transportation Commissioner Marcos Marchena, and other transportation and local officials in the dedication ceremony to officially open the final 5.5 miles of Toll Road 429, the Daniel Webster Western Beltway, located in Central Florida, just west of Orlando. Florida's Turnpike Chief Executive Officer James Ely joined Senator Webster to unveil the official dedication plaque.

The 2005 Florida Legislature designated the 33 mile transportation loop around western Orange and Northern Osceola Counties as the Daniel Webster Western Beltway in recognition of more than 25 years of Legislative service to our State, including his tireless efforts to improve mobility.

Florida troopers, who will patrol the new highway, assisted with the crowd and traffic at the dedication ceremony. The Ocoee High School Marching Band Provided musical entertainment and Osceola's Miss Silver Spurs Jessica Davis also participated in the event.
