Trooper Hazen Ogden
Trooper Hazen Ogden

Recently, on Interstate 75, Trooper Hazen Ogden, while on routine patrol, found two traffic stops to be not so routine.

While patrolling in Sumter County on I-75, Brooksville District Trooper Hazen Ogden stopped a vehicle for unlawful speed and following too closely. During a conversation with the driver regarding the observed traffic offenses, Trooper Ogden smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. He searched the vehicle and found over 60 pounds of marijuana concealed in the vehicle's trunk! The driver and passenger were arrested.

Another shift on I-75 resulted in the arrest of two more suspects. This time it was a Toyota pickup truck following too closely, as well as a window tint violation. During the course of talking to the driver and passenger, Trooper Ogden observed the strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle’s passenger compartment. A subsequent search revealed over 15 pounds of marijuana hidden in the vehicle. The driver and passenger were arrested.

Four criminals are now off of Florida’s highways and over 75 pounds of marijuana has been intercepted by a hardworking Trooper - GREAT JOB!
