On July 23rd, Mothers Against Drunk Drivers (M.A.D.D.) held its first Get in Gear Road Rally, hosted by the local Palm Beach County chapter and sponsored by the Palm Beach County State Attorney's Office. The event took place at Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter, Florida, and extended across numerous roadways throughout Palm Beach County. The Road Rally consisted of a special driving course that included a set of sequentially numbered instructions at selective checkpoints, which participants had to follow. Public Affairs Officer Lt. Tim Frith, driving Troop L's sporty Mustang Steeda, teamed up with the Deputy Chief of County Court and the Assistant State Attorney Liz Parker to participate in the fund-raising event.
Sponsors and participants raised money at the rally to support M.A.D.D.'s victim services and other important programs. Special thanks goes out to the Palm Beach County State Attorney's Office for sponsoring this event; to FHPA Major Pat Bradley and FHPA Captain Pat Bradley, Jr., for providing security; and to Occupant Protection Specialist Trooper Conya Bassett for providing roll-over simulator demonstrations for all attendees.
The Florida Highway Patrol continues to support M.A.D.D. and their efforts to help remove impaired drivers from roadways all across this country.
