FHPA Lt. Nancy Newbould answers a question
about a child safety seat.
Each year, Troop C is tasked with the Florida State Fair detail, and each year our participation in this important event would not be possible without the dedication and support from our Auxiliary. This year, the 101st Annual Florida State Fair, was no exception. FHPA Lt. Nancy Newbould planned and set up the display, along with assistance from Occupant Protection Specialist Trooper Reggie Edwards and Pinellas Park's FHPA Sergeant Mark Woodhouse. Lt. Newbould manned the display booth every day, greeting thousands of people in attendance.
Florida Highway Patrol's Troop C created a display featuring a Camaro, a Marauder, and an unmarked Mustang (on loan from FHPA Sgt. Mark Woodhouse's personal collection of retired and restored patrol cars). Along with the cars, the FHP display highlighted the patrol's commitment to reducing the number of traffic related fatalities on Florida's highways. The booth provided a variety of traffic safety information to the public, including brochures and posters on the dangers of aggressive driving, driving under the influence, and the importance of using seatbelts and child restraints. Thanks to all who helped make this year's fair display a success!
