Recently, Lt. Mike Burroughs and FHPA Trooper Larry Dickey were operating FHP's Rollover Simulator at the Lake City Wal-Mart Safety Day. After observing the Rollover demonstration, Summer Greenwood and her children came forward to share her family's Saved by the Belt story.

According to Summer Greenwood, on Thursday, October 20, 2004, she and her two children were stopped at a red light on Baya Avenue in Lake City, when a semi-tractor and trailer suddenly slammed her vehicle from behind. The semi driver had failed to stop at the light and crashed into her car. The crash forced her vehicle to shoot across the intersection before coming to a final stop. Her vehicle was totaled from the crash. Thankfully, she and her children were buckled up. Summer was wearing her seat belt and had both of her children restrained in child safety seats. Because of her dedication to using child safety seats and seat belts, her family was kept safe in what could have been a tragic incident. This family was truly saved by the belt.
