Captain Jaime R. Picanol earns
his Master’s Degree with an impressive 4.0 GPA.
Captain Jaime R. Picanol, Troop E (Miami), recently earned a Master’s Degree in Psychology from Carlos Albizu University, formerly known as the Miami Institute of Psychology. Captain Picanol graduated with honors with an impressive 4.0 grade point average. In addition, Captain Picanol was inducted into the PSI CHI National Psychological Honor Society, an honor reserved for top students in the field of psychology. He is currently enrolled in a Doctoral Program for Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Forensics.
Captain Picanol began as a trooper with the Florida Highway Patrol in 1983—stationed in Broward after graduating from the Academy. In 1990, he was promoted to Sergeant and transferred to Miami. Just two years later, he was promoted to Lieutenant. In 1998, he was promoted to Captain. Meanwhile, Picanol graduated from the FBI National Academy (199th Session) in 1999 and began graduate school. Captain Picanol, the first Hispanic to promote to the rank of Captain in the Florida Highway Patrol, currently serves as the Commander of the Special Operations District in Troop E.
