The Florida Legislature is in full swing at the Capitol in Tallahassee for the next 60 days, and the Florida Highway Patrol is making its presence known. Colonel Chris Knight had an opportunity to meet with State Representative Doug Wiles, Democratic Leader Pro Tempore, on January 25th. Representative Wiles has been a strong and vocal supporter of the Florida Highway Patrol since 1996, when he was first elected to the Florida House of Representatives.
The Florida Highway Patrol is also assisting the Capitol Police in providing security at the Capitol during the 60-day Legislative Session. Colonel Knight had an opportunity to chat with Lieutenant David Apgar while at the Capitol. Lieutenant Apgar is assigned to Troop C, Lakeland.
