Florida Highway Patrol continues its search for qualified individuals to fill the ranks of one of the nation’s premier law enforcement agencies. The FHP, along with many other Florida law enforcement agencies, will be losing many of their senior officers to retirement in the upcoming months. The Patrol is slated to have 80 members retire in June 2003. This number is in addition to the Patrol’s normal attrition rate.
Recently, Corporal Ben Glass and Captain David Tripp participated in career fairs at Florida State University and Fort Stewart Army base. The Florida Highway Patrol prefers to hire men and women who have college, military and/or sworn police experience in their backgrounds.
After interested applicants complete an employment application, they are invited to participate in written and physical fitness examinations in order to determine their eligibility for future employment. Interested individuals should contact a local FHP recruitment officer or complete an application request form at the following link.
