Corporal Hernandez entered the mangled vehicle and secured the driver’s head and spine until rescue crews arrived. He then assisted in removing the injured driver from the vehicle. Unfortunately, this is the type of incident members of the Florida Highway Patrol handle each and every day.

Corporal Hernandez is a 4-½ year veteran of the Florida Highway Patrol assigned to Troop L, Pompano Beach.

Please remember to buckle up!
