K-9 Drake with Trooper Ivey

Canine PrayerK-9 Drake began his career with the Florida Highway Patrol in December of 2009 when he and his handler Trooper Robert Ivey graduated from the 480 hour FDLE K-9 Patrol School in Tallahassee. They worked on the Florida Turnpike in St. Lucie County. Drake conducted numerous K-9 Demonstrations at Elementary Schools. K-9 Drake was retired in May of 2010 residing with former K9 Trooper Bobby Boody. On November 18, 2012, while Trooper Boody was at work, K9 Drake was shot four times during a home burglary of the Trooper's home and survived. On November 23, 2012 K9 Drake was flown to the University of Florida for another emergency surgery where he passed away from the extensive gunshot wounds.
