Troop K
Patrolling Florida's Turnpike

Florida Highway Patrol Troop K is headquartered with Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise and is the official and preferred law enforcement troop for the turnpike system. One of the safest roadways in the nation, Florida’s Turnpike is 312 miles long, and is known as “Florida’s Main Street.” This modern and convenient toll facility travels through eleven counties from Interstate 75 near Wildwood, to Florida City, just north of the Florida Keys.

The eight service plazas on Florida’s Turnpike are placed at intervals of approximately 45 minutes travel time to provide food, fuel, automobile repair and towing services to Turnpike customers. Over 35 million customers visit these service plazas each year and allow drivers to rest on long distance trips to avoid fatigue.

Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise has also entered into a partnership with State Farm Insurance Companies to provide free roadside assistance to disabled vehicles through our Safety Patrol program which is a part of FDOT’s Road Ranger program. Hours of operation and service areas for Road Ranger programs are available at www.floridasturnpike.com/tools_safetypatrol.cfm.

In addition to the Turnpike mainline, Troop K also patrols the Veterans and Suncoast Parkways in the Tampa Bay Area as well as the Polk Parkway in Polk County.

The Florida Highway Patrol and the men and women of Troop K hope you enjoy traveling on Florida’s Turnpike. We work to ensure a safe highway environment for our customers and ask that each of you drive responsibly. We regularly participate in "Buckle Up Florida" and other public education and enforcement campaigns to work toward this goal. While traveling, the best protection for you and your passengers is to utilize all available occupant restraint devices, such as safety belts and child safety seats. So remember to buckle up, your safety is important to us!
