Collier County: Collier County was the second fastest growing area of the U.S. from 1990 to 2000. The County’s 2006 population estimate is 319,905. Collier County’s population growth has primarily been through annual net migration to the county from other areas of the Country. During the months between November and April, Collier County’s population increases by an estimated one-third due to seasonal residents and short-term agricultural workers in the Immokalee area. Collier County has long been an attractive place to retire.
