a Pensacola Trooper and a Escambia Sheriff Deputy Parent walking child to school

On October 13th, 2005, troopers in Pensacola, along with the Escambia County Sheriff's Office, joined with the Community Traffic Safety Team to promote a Walk Your Child To School Day. Everyone gathered at The Carver Elementary/Middle School in Century to hand out safety items to parents and children to help raise awareness for pedestrian safety. Officers also interacted with children and talked with them about safety issues. This is just one of the many examples of the Community Traffic Safety Team's effort to improve traffic safety in the local community.
