title as electronic—and the dealer can handle the paperwork
Leaving a title electronic eliminates the risk of losing it. It
is also an effective fraud deterrent because potential thieves will
not have access to your title.
Before you can print an electronic title, the lien must be satisfied.
The lien holder must notify us that the lien was satisfied. Make
sure the lien holder has your current address listed as either the
owner or on the mail to address.
When you’re ready to have DHSMV print the title, go to our
website, enter your vehicle and personal
information and you can request we print your title. There is a $2.50 service fee for printing and mailing. DHSMV will mail your paper title within five days.
If you do not have computer access or need your title quicker,
go to the tax collector office and request
a paper title. You will need your vehicle registration and identification.
The cost for this option is $10.
