With the June FRVIS Release, when changing a customer’s address on the Motor Vehicle record, FRVIS systematically updates the address on the Driver License record and vice versa. The department notified the Tax Collectors via Technical Advisory T08-03, Synchronizing Address With Driver License Customer File about this feature as well as a feature to allow the printing and mailing of the driver license. Unfortunately, the department delayed the implementation of the printing of the driver license feature due to some technical reasons. However, those issues have been resolved and the department is currently testing this capability in several test sites. Statewide implementation of this feature is tentatively scheduled for Friday, August 1, 2008.
As a reminder, FRVIS gives you the option to synchronize the MV and DL addresses and request that a driver license be printed and mailed to the customer. The details regarding how this feature works are described in T08-03.
