Suspension Quiz

  • Do you have Florida automobile insurance on all vehicles registered in Florida?
All vehicles registered in Florida are required to have Florida insurance coverage regardless of where the vehicles are maintained. Check your insurance card or policy. It will indicate which vehicles are insured and whether it is Florida coverage. If you do not have Florida coverage, contact a Florida automobile insurance agent to purchase the necessary coverage.
  • Is the address on your license correct?
Look at your Florida driver license. If the address is not, update your address with us by internet or mail.
  • Have you changed insurance companies in the last six months?
If you have, remind your insurance agent to report your new policy to the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles.
  • Have you bought a vehicle in the last six months?
If you have, remind your insurance agent to report your new vehicle coverage and the correct vehicle identification number(VIN) to the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. Compare the VIN on your registration to your insurance card to be sure the numbers match.
  • Have you cancelled an insurance policy in the last six months on a car you aren't driving?
    If you have, and:
  • you still own the vehicle and
  • you still have a tag registered to that vehicle and
  • it is no longer being driven

Cancel your tag and registration by turning them in to any Florida driver license office. (Florida law requires insurance coverage on all registered vehicles.)
