| The Department of Highway Safety
and Motor Vehicles' FLOWmobile (Florida Licensing
On Wheels) participated in the
Friday night Downtown Get Down in Tallahassee on November 3. Examiners
on the FLOWmobile offered on-site registration of emergency contact
information, a new service by the department, and issued 41 identification
cards to children five years of age and older. The cost for a first
time identification card is three dollars, but at this event, the
tab was picked up by Hancock Bank. Parents provided an original
birth certificate as proof of identification.
FHP was also on-site to demonstrate the importance of safety belt
usage with the "seat belt convincer." Members of the public volunteered
to ride in the convincer, which gains speed up to 5 mph, then comes
to a dead stop.
Congratulations on such a fine event and many thanks to all the
partners and DHSMV employees for making it so successful!
