FROM: T.
N. Prakash,
Chief
Bureau of Financial Responsibility
SUBJECT: File Transfer Protocol (FTP)
In accordance with our October 20, 2003 bulletin, effective October 1,
2004, insurance companies writing Florida personal injury protection (PIP)
and property damage liability (PDL) insurance policies will be required
to electronically file via File Transfer Protocol (FTP).
The old filing versions: cartridge, diskette, and manual filings will
not be accepted on or after October 1, 2004. You may refer to the FTP
version on the Internet at www.flhsmv.gov/FRManualFTP for specifications.
We would also like to remind our customers that motor vehicle insurance information
may be entered on-line on the Internet at https://www6.hsmv.state.fl.us/dlcheck/dlcheckinq
for clearance of cases for cancellation of policies covering PIP and PDL
insurance, if there are no other pending problems or suspensions. Therefore,
we would appreciate your apprising your agents of the availability of
this clearance function.
If you have any question regarding the FTP version, please call Mr.
Joe Glover, at our Help Desk, at (850) 414-2530. Thank you.
