The Florida Highway Patrol Advisory Council is an organization comprised of business, professional, and community leaders throughout the state. Members of the Advisory Council provide assistance to the Director of the Florida Highway Patrol by offering input regarding the performance of the Patrol and the quality of service provided to the public. Quality of the Patrol’s performance and public perception is a major concern to the men and women of the Florida Highway Patrol.
In 1999, the Advisory Council was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) organization and subsequently established the Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Memorial Fund. This fund was established to provide for a memorial honoring the 40 FHP troopers and one FHP Auxiliary trooper who lost their lives in the line of duty serving and protecting the citizens of the State of Florida. Additionally, the fund provides financial and other support to the families of troopers and auxiliary troopers who lose their life or sustain life-threatening injuries in the line of duty.
Additionally, the Advisory Council assists the FHP in other areas such as legislative matters, special projects, and other issues, which contribute to the improvement of the Patrol. Especially important is the responsibility to provide our troopers with resources that will enable them to improve public safety by providing quality service to the public and enhancement of their personal welfare.
Advisory Council members’ experience and expertise contribute greatly to the success of the organization and achievement of the goals of the Florida Highway Patrol.
We appreciate the personal time and effort that members of the FHP Advisory Council have given in the interest and welfare of the men and women of the Florida Highway Patrol.
