We Are the Chosen Few, 122

The members of the Florida Highway Patrol’s 122nd Recruit Class will graduate Sept. 20, putting 56 new troopers on the road and ready to serve. The recruits endured 28 weeks of intensive training in academic and high liability areas including human relations, law, firearms, defensive tactics, vehicle operations and first aid.

The 122nd began their journey March 11. After they took the State Officer Certification Examination, 17 new recruits who had already obtained their law enforcement certification joined them. After graduation, FHP’s newest troopers will report to their duty assignments for 10 weeks of field training before they patrol solo. When all of their training is complete, the recruit troopers will have spent 38 weeks preparing to serve Florida’s residents and visitors.

During their time at the academy, the recruits learned about community service in addition to their law enforcement training. They volunteered to assist at fundraisers for the Ronald McDonald House and Pyramid, Inc., and they participated in three blood drives.

The members of the 122nd are proud of their accomplishment and ready to embark on their new career. The graduation ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. at the Tallahassee Automobile Museum.

Congratulations to the 122nd Recruit Class!
