On Jan. 7, 2010, Sgt. Charles McCormick, Trooper Josh Tucker and Trooper Todd St. Clair of Troop A were working the Interstate 10 area near the Alabama stateline. Sgt. McCormick received a BOLO (be on the lookout) from the US Marshal’s Office for a subject with current federal warrants. The Marshal’s office advised that the subject might be traveling from Mobile, Alabama to the Pensacola area.

Later in the afternoon, Tpr. Tucker observed a vehicle driver that matched the description of the wanted subject and with the assistance of Sgt. McCormick and Tpr. St. Clair conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. The driver was determined to be the wanted suspect. When he was taken into custody he had crystal methamphetamine on his person. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a rolling methamphetamine lab in the vehicle.

The US Marshal’s Service, DEA, the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office and the Dept. of Agriculture responded to assist with the investigation and clean up of the BIO hazardous scene. The suspect was booked into the Escambia County Jail on numerous drug related charges.

Tpr. Tucker, Sgt. McCormick and Tpr. St. Clair are commended for removing this wanted subject from the highways of Florida and for disrupting his efforts to manufacture and distribute narcotics in Florida.
