As we welcomed in a new year, we also welcomed new Regional Duty Officers from around the state. These new RDOs attended a basic training class Jan. 4-15, 2010, at the Florida Highway Patrol Training Academy. During this training, the new RDOs were introduced to their duties and responsibilities and the vital role they will play as the “Lifeline” to state law enforcement officers and the public.

The training consisted of hands-on exercises covering the Computer Aided Dispatch System and simulated telephone and radio training. This course provides the new RDOs with a foundation to help them as they return to their assigned Regional Communications Center and begin their training at the local level.
