Lt. Joe Tucker (Troop A – Panama City) recently helped sponsor a Child Passenger Safety Certification class at the Panama City FHP station. The class included four nurses from Gulf Coast Hospital, Trooper Tammy Tindle-Husar, and FHP Clerk Vicki Paul. The instructor, Marie Patterson, was assisted by Lt. Tucker to train more local CPS Techs to enhance community efforts to educate the public about the proper use of child restraints. Thank you FHP for your continued effort to help the kids in the Panhandle travel safely on area roadways.

Trooper Dawn Tomlinson, Troop G’s Occupant Protection Specialist, and Lieutenant Mike Burroughs, Troop B’s Public Affairs Officer, recently provided Child Passenger Safety certification training for troopers and civilian personnel who work at the Jacksonville FHP station. Troopers and others attended the valuable training to learn more about how to properly install child safety seats and ensure their proper use. National statistics show that 80% of child safety seats are not installed or used correctly. The training offered in this National Child Passenger Safety Certification Course will allow FHP members to educate the motoring public and assist others in making sure children are properly restrained.
