When troopers complete crash investigations, a copy of the report is typically available to the public with 7 to 10 working days. Under Florida Law, a small fee of $10 is required to obtain a copy of a crash report. When a fatality occurs, a normal crash report is made, but a more in-depth report is also done, called a traffic homicide investigation or THI. A THI report is typically ready within 60 days, and the fee for this report is $25 per copy. Reports may be obtained in person, or by mail. Payment is required at the time of request. Since Troop "K" covers several counties, reports for various locations are only sold at certain offices.
