TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — In an effort to better serve customers, the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) opened its newest full-service driver license office in Miami Gardens last week. There are now nine DHSMV driver license offices in the highly-populated area of Miami-Dade County.

The new Miami Gardens office, located at 18326 Northwest 7th Avenue, Miami Gardens, Florida 33169, is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Customers can also save time by making an appointment before going in to a DHSMV office. The Miami Gardens office offers the following services:

  • Driver license issuance;
  • Driver license testing;
  • Identification card issuance;
  • Emergency contact information registration; and
  • Finger printing for commercial drivers.

“We are excited to provide more sites for the public to obtain important licensing and identification card services,” said DHSMV Director of Motorist Services Robert Kynoch. “To keep wait times as low as possible, we also encourage customers to skip the line and take advantage of our online services, when possible.”

The DHSMV is asking the public to check www.GoRenew.com to find out whether the services they need are available online before visiting a service center. Most licensing services are available online, except for instances where a driver is applying for their first driver license, a current license has expired or if the driver has legally changed their name.
