DHSMV Releases New Design of University Of Central Florida Specialty License Plate

~Newly redesigned UCF specialty license plates available this month~

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) is pleased to announce the release of the newly redesigned specialty plate for the University of Central Florida (UCF). The new plate will be delivered to tax collector and tag agency offices by August 5. As of July 1, there were 14,867 valid registrations of this specialty license plate.

Floridians interested in purchasing the new UCF plate are encouraged to contact their local tax collector or tag agency office for availability. A list of locations can be found online at https://www.flhsmv.gov/locations. There will be a $25 specialty plate fee in addition to the other registration fees. Revenue from the sale of the plate goes back to the university to fund academic enhancement activities.

The University of Central Florida was one of the first nine collegiate specialty license plates enacted by the legislature in 1986 and has been available for purchase since October 1987. There are now 36 collegiate specialty license plates. A complete list of Florida’s specialty license plates can be found online at https://www.flhsmv.gov/dmv/specialtytags/.
